Black History Month

Inspired by Black History Month, which takes place in October each year, we have developed a set of useful resources to support Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Network events.

Celebrating Black History Month 2020

Black History Month celebrates the contributions from those from the African and Caribbean diaspora. For us at the national Ambulance BME Forum (NABMEF), Black History Month 2020 brings with it a palpable feeling of change, and we continue champion inclusion, and a commitment to anti-racism within the NHS ambulance sector through education.

National Hate Crime Awareness week 10th October -17th October

This weeks also marks the start of Hate Crime Awareness Week. The NHS has seen a rise in violence and aggression towards its staff (more than 1600 physical attacks on ambulance staff nationally between Jan -July 2020, which includes hate crime.

We’d also like to thank Alistair Gunn, Chair of the National Ambulance LGBT Network for the contribution to the development this resource.
